Bronzer rave: Givenchy Poudre Bonne Mine Powder

Guerlain Terracotta bronzing powders, infamous for bronzers and rave reviews, first caught my eye when I was looking for a new high-end bronzer. After going swatch frenzy at the Sephora counters and realizing the color selection for Guerlain wasn't a match in heaven for me, I've accidentally came across Givenchy Poudre Bonne Mine Healthy Glow bronzer. I was attracted by the lovely surface design on it, and casually ran my index finger to get a feel for it. It had an amazing, soft texture and the subtle brightness it contained with very fine shimmer was exactly what I was looking for. The color number 3 Ambre Croisière - golden tan, specifically, was  the winner for me. Due to my laziness, I love using bronzers that have a brightening effect, sort of like a highlighter, but from the color rather than the sparkle. Nars Laguna is slightly too brown for my skintone, and Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel is slightly too muted in pigment to use as a bronzer/blush (even though this is one of my favorite bronzers). Similar to Hourglass Illume Creme-to-powder bronzer, the tone of this was perfect for bronzing that added a little blushing effect with more reddish-hue. It lifts up the complexion, but not too harshly, and looks quite natural when applied alone. It's definitely NOT for contouring, I say, but to me the way the bronzer shapes the cheeks works as contouring/shading to naturally sculpt the cheeks.

It has a lovely print on the surface, and a gentle swirl with a brush gives me a natural sun-kissed blush.
